What You’ll Do

manually clear snow from sidewalks, pathways, and entryways using shovels and other hand tools. This may include removing heavy or packed snow and ice to ensure safe and unobstructed access for pedestrians.

spreading de-icing materials, such as salt or sand, to prevent the formation of ice and enhance safety in the cleared areas.

follow safety guidelines and procedures, including wearing appropriate protective gear, and being aware of potential hazards. They should also work diligently to minimize any injury risks.

report on the progress of their work, as well as any issues or areas that require additional attention.
What You’ll Need

must be physically fit and able to endure prolonged periods of shoveling in cold and often challenging weather conditions.

Dependability is critical in this role; you are often required to work on short notice, including during early morning hours, to ensure timely snow removal.

A keen eye for detail is necessary to ensure that all snow and ice are thoroughly removed, minimizing slip and fall risks for pedestrians.
